Now in its eighth season, The Children’s Choir of Michiana espouses a fundamental belief that all children can learn to sing. Following its charge to provide an educationally based vocal program, this choir of select fourth through tenth graders learns head-voice vocal technique, sight-singing and rhythm.

The choir presents concerts throughout north central Indiana and Southern Michigan, and hosts an annual Invitational Choir Festival to which it invites singers from schools and churches throughout the region. In 2006, the choir performed with the Goshen Community Chorus in Sauder Concert Hall at Goshen College, and was invited to participate in the Dowagiac Choral Festival. In commemoration of its fifth anniversary in 2009, the choir performed John’s Rutter’s Mass of the Children with Vesper Chorale and Orchestra.

CCM now boasts three choirs at its South Bend campus, and a satellite choir in Dowagiac Michigan. Its rehearsal home is First United Methodist Church. Auditions are held in early spring and late summer each year.
